A History of RED HAIR

The percentage of people on Earth, born with natural RED Hair is very low. It hovers between only 1 and 2 percent. Science notes that Chromosone 16, which contains an altered version of the protein MC1R, is responsible for creating red hair in humans.

Edinburgh, Scotland, is noted as being the 'Redhead Capitol of the World'. Other parts of the British isles, and those whose origins are located in North West European counties have a higher population of natural red heads.

Most humans here on Planet Earth are born with dark hair (brown or black). The high presence of the protective Rumpel's in in the hair's cortex is responsible for this situation.

PS. Only 6 percent of people in the world are born with natural blonde hair.
