Consider this: Alkaline color (permanent color or bleach) should touch only VIRGIN HAIR.

Apply any alkaline color to Zone 1 (the new hair, freshly emerged from the scalp). Refresh or tone hair lengths with an acidic demi shade. Lowlight with a creme or gel demi permanent color product.

Doing this preserves hair strength and works to keep the cuticular layer of the hair reasonably protected. Acidic Demis also balance the pH. They create perfectly consistent results from root to tip. Your work is EXCLUSIVE! Remember that! Taking perfect care of color-treated hair sets you apart!
