NN Hair Color Shades

When your client requests complete coverage of gray, using NN shades promise
that the coverage will be COMPLETE.
Frankly, even before the introduction of NN shades, I experienced great
coverate when I used a formula no more than 2 levels ighter than the "still
pigmented" hair, and when I allowed the color to process at room temperature for 45
minutes........ NN shades were created by chemists who learned that many colorists
demanded shades that would COVER gray every time they were applied.
NN shades perform beautifully, HOWEVER: AS most of you already know, NN shades, though very rich and effective, can create a result which is FAR
DARKER than you might expect! Manufacturers say that an NN shade
can develop 1/2 - 3/4 of a level darker than expected, BUT if the hair is
of a finer texture, that deposit can be1 to almost 2 levels darker than you might expect!
SO: When using an NN shade, I usually choose an NN shade one level lighter than I
expect. Remember, a level 6 shade was created to transition white (gray) hair to a level 6.
In many cases, that white hair will transition to a level 5. Indeed the gray will be COVERED..
but the result might be MUCH DARKER than you and your client expect. particularly on
the hair at the faceframe and widow's peak.
You will enjoy great success with these shades when you keep this color fact in mind! Join
