Recently, I have decided to read comments from salon professionals posted on
a variety of salon social sites. And, I'm seeing that questions about haircutting,
styling, and color have frequently been replaced by posts asking for help about:
Sadness, anger and frustration in the work place
Pricing for salon servicess
Not knowing how to effectively, successfully engage with clients
How to schedule appointments correctly
How to answer difficult client questions
How to successfully address the ever-rising costs of doing business
How to manage stress, emotional and physical pain
How to work with and how to develop skills for those assisting at the salon
Managing the "business" of the salon beauty
How to attract new business
How to most effectively "manage the phones". questions to ask, conversatons to have.
............ and much more.
I see some real dissatisfaction, particularly among newer salon professionals who might
be struggling and who find providing 'customer service" to a demanding clientelle very
hard to endure.
On Monday, July 29th, I'm hosting a FREE ZOOM LEARNING SESSION called "The
Problem Solvers". 5PM Eastern Time, 4PM Central time. Of course my one hour
session will address hair color concerns, but a real part of our focus will be providing
support and information to help salon staff and owners more happily, easily survive in
our often challenging business. I hope you will join us and that you might also encourage
others to do so. Again, there is no charge for this one hour learning opportunity.
Get access to our program NOW by calling 800-247-1660. Our telephone staff will
share the Zoom link with you. And, if spending a day IMMERSED in a deep dive into
career-boosing color education is of interest, meet me:
Monday, August 19th in West Palm Beach, Anuskha Salon
Sunday, September 29, Annapolis Maryland, DoubeTree Inn
Tickets available NOW when you call, Mondaay- Friday 800-247-1660.
Pricing is a for sure challenging. Clients’ want the “best of the best” regarding talent, products, experience, etc., but act offended when they get quoted a price. Colors require much more skill, TIME, and product than they used to. So I’m not sure what the issue is. I will say this…is not the job of the salon or stylist to “pay” the client to get their hair done with time, product, etc.
