Dull, Faded Hair? DOUBLE GLAZE To the RESCUE

We have ALL seen this. A brunette, or Red client comes in with a huge need for a retouch.

The hair lengths and ends are SO FADED!!!! It's been a long time inbetween retouches. So

we are going to cure this by refreshing those hair lengths TWICE.

Here's what I do: I first complete the usual root retouch application and set the time for 45 minutes

at room temperature. When 20 minutes remain on the timer, I mix Sheade E.Q., Goldwell

Colorance, Schwartzkopf Vibrance, Rusk Deep Shine, or Beauty Fusion with five volume developer.. choosing a shade 2 levels lighter and a bit warmer than I'd usually target. Apply that while the "root" color is stilll "cooking".

When the timer goes off, do not shampoo the hair but RINSE IT FOREVER.. until the water

runs crystal clear. Towel dry. Now, apply another batch of the acidic demi liquid... the same

formula or one a BIT deeper than the previous. Apply this root through ends and be sure to

evenly cover all the hair. cover with a plastic cap and allow the client to relax for 20 minutes

at room temperature. Then, rinse the hair, shampoo, condition, and admire the super shiny,

rich and delicious color.. completely restored with lovely luster... never too dark, yet completely unfaded.. and this will HOLD beautifully.. unless the client again waits for months in between the retouch. Few. salons take the time to do this. Trust me.. doing the double glaze will set you apart. thanks for joining our site. Please leave a comment or ask a question for more information. Yes, this is something I’ve done over the years and it really does create rich, saturated deposit and holds beautifully.
