NEW Information - Science

Wow! I’m connecting with other color experts who test color and color care products ‘across the board’; meaning that rather than focusing on one brand, they test product performance on many, many brands— to compare and rate performance.

At a recent event in the Netherlands, chemists discussed the subjects of ‘masques and conditioners’. Here is the science they shared:

Simply: A conditioner is more acidic than a masque. A masque is designed to offer deep penetration into the hair… while a conditioner is formulated to treat, hydrate and SMOOTH the hair ( closing the cuticle via acidic action!)…. These experts noted that when we apply and process a masque, rinse and THEN apply a conditioner, we are performing the FINEST level of treatment to the hair!!!! This is new news I did not know previously. Comment here to share your thoughts.

CHEMICALLY NOT IDENTICAL

Mixing permanent hair color with a large proportion of low volume developer and, perhaps, adding a bonder.. does NOT create a formula...

I didn’t know this either. Always room for learning.
