A NEW GENERATION of Color Refreshers

Great colorists traditionally "finish" a color appointment by refreshing faded hair lengths using an acidic glazing formula. This is followed by shampooing and conditioning the hair. I love doing this and have enjoyed beautiful results following this protocol.

HOWEVER, right now, I'm also enjoying the use of Very New, Very EFFECTIVE color conditioners. These products are NOTHING like what we remember in the past... These were effective conditioners containing a BIT of tone that washed. out after only one or two shampoos. The situation has changed. Science and smart color creators have created truly remarkable color-boosting shampoos and conditioners which very effectively deposit lasting tone into the hair.

EVO FABULOSO. These Aurstralian-born, intermixable products deliver exqusite condition and rich, beautiful tone that clings to the hair for six to eight shampoos. The line includes a csutomized way to retail to the client.. assuirng that he or she obtains the precise amount of color deposit they desire. WELLA also offers wonderful color conditioners in a range of shades. available in easy-to-use tubes. LOLA by Artego is another very good color conditioner, available in a range of shades, and at a very reasonable price. The product for back bar is in bottles, and salons can retail the product in resealable packettes for clients' home use or travel. Like the other brands, LOLA

clings to the hair for several shampoos.

TAKE AWAY HERE". AT THE SALON: Next time you perform a retouch, try this: Tell the client you are "color conditioning them at the sink".. that the hair is being both glazed and conditioned at the same time. After shampooing and towel drying the hair, apply your chosen shade of color conditioner. Make the client comfortable for ten minutes. Then, rinse the hair very well. You'll note that the hair feels WONDERFUL and that those faded hair lengths are beautifully refreshed. When your client sees her dry, styled hair, I believe she will be delighted with the tone, the shine and the "feel" of her hair. .. Perfect!
