A QUESTION OF BALANCE

Avoid "regret" when meeting a new client who has requested a "retouch" of their current shade. If that root area is darker than the hair lengths, you know that the client's hair has

been previously treated with permanent color and/or with bleach.

While your target shade might be warm in tone, be sure to consider any percentage of

gray hair ... or if you see that the hair looks very thin, or sparse. If so, even a small

percentage of warm color, can look even warmer after processing, creating what we

call a "hot root".

Remember that you will have the highest level of control when you use a color no more than 2 levels lighter than the shade you see at the root area. And, if you are using a gold, copper,

red or auburn shade, consider adding a BIT of an "N". (neutral or natural) color into your

formula.. creating a 'NATURAL WARM" shade. ... this allows for a warm tone to develop,

with CONTROL!

Many manufacturers now offer NW. (Naturall/Warm) shades. Artego"s ITS COLOR and

BALMAIN Color Brand .. as well as others.. have created these user-friendly shades

for you. At most levels, they are "buffered with approximately 1/1/4 part of warmth with 3/4 part of neutral at the same or similar level.

When the brand you use offers Neural shades, you can, of course, intermix these with your chosen gold, copper, red, or auburn color formula.

The holidays are upon us! I wish you joy, health and abundant celebration with love!
