BEST METHOD for LONG-LASTING GRAY BLENDING!

"Gray Blending" is not new.. many of us have been doing this for YEARS!. This technique allows us to use the client's gray hair as a highlight... leaving the "still pigmented" hair,

(the hair which has not yet turned gray).. unchanged. When we use the proper color

formula -- a level 1,2, or 3 levels lighter than the pigmented hair, we transition the gray hair to a shade that is no loonger gray, but not quite as deep as the pigmented hair. We are .leaving the pigmented hair color virtually unchanged.

HERE"S THE SECRET: To achieve, in my opinion, the BEST Gray Blending, select an

alkaline, opaque no- lift demi permanent hair color. An acidic demi color does Not usually have the power to conduct this service most effectively. I always mix my alkaline demi formula with with equal parts of five volume developer.

In 99 out of 100 cases, I always follow manufacturer's instructions when coloring hair,

but for my gray blending technique, I mix the color with EQUAL PARTS of 5 volume developer. I apply the formula to the retouch area, taking fine, even sections.

While I'm applying the formula, I am pre-heating a rotating heat source (or hood dryer) to high. And,

when the color application is complete, I cover the hair with a plastic cap.

I place my client under the pre-heated source, and reduce the heat to medium. I alllow

the client to remain under the heat source for 20 minutes. Later, I place her away from the heat, remove the cap, and allow the hair to process for an additional 20 minutes at room

temperature. Next, i rinse completely, shampoo and condition. You can choose to highlight and/or lowligh the hair.. AND the gray hair which you have successfully blended, will look
