OBSERVING OXIDATION - AN EXPERIMENT

Do you need to clean silver in your home? Perhaps a bracelet, flatware, a tray or a candle stick? Try this to observe a "good way" oxidation can take place.
In a large container, place a sheet of aluminum foil, salt and HOT water. Next, submerge the
silver item into this mixture. Almost before your eyes, all the tarnish will be removed! The interaction of aluminum and salt in contact with staining properties creates the "cure" for tarnish.
What I have shared above creates a great learning experience for cosmetology school students... helping them observe how clarifying shampoos and treatments "lift" stain from the hair.
