For the client who asks for help as she transitions to gray hair, start by BLENDING the
white hair near the scalp and as that processes, highlight the hair at the face frame, attempting to bring that hair up to palest yellow..allmost white.
Here is what to do: Mix an alkaline demi creme color formula: 3 parts Neutral, 1 part Gold
with EQUAL PARTS of 5 or 6 volume developer. Apply to the "root area".. the hair near
the scalp. Next: Mix powder lightener with 40 volume developer, and weave "angel light" tiny sections hair surrounging the face and forehead area. Place the client under a pre-heated heat source for no more than 40 minutes, checking the foils every fifteen minutes, assuring that the client is comfortable.
Next, rinse the hair THOROUGHLY and shampoo. Rinse thoroughly and towel dry
the hair. Now, at the sink, glaze the hair... root to ends for 10 minutes, using a level 9 or 10
silver or blue-based acidic liquid demi color, then rinse, shampoo and condition
OR
You can "glaze and condition" the hair for 10 minutes, using a silver-based color conditioner like Celeb's Flawless Diamond Color Conditioner.
This effective, soft, yet "never fail" transition toward gray helps the client grow out her hair without spending LOTS OF MONEY and LOTS OF TIME at the salon, as she enjoys a
color result which avoids that "skunk look" during this grow out period. Continue this
service.. adding more highlights each time the client sees you. After six to eight months,
we can take the next steps toward an even more "silver" color result. B.
